Giving Back: Education and Holiday Joy in Chinchiná, 2025

In 2025, Sun-Wright supported two initiatives in Chinchiná, Colombia — one focused on education, one a small but personal gesture from our team on the ground.

Supporting Bilingual Education

Colegio Menfis is one of the most established bilingual schools in the Chinchiná region, with 25 years of experience in bilingual education. In November 2025, Sun-Wright donated $5,000 to fund Merit Scholarships for students who showed strong academic promise — in the hope that tuition costs wouldn't stand between a motivated student and the education they deserved. The scholarships were awarded to a group of students at a special ceremony co-organized with the Minga House Foundation. Sun-Wright student volunteers from the United States also attended, marking the beginning of an ongoing cultural exchange between the two groups.

A small festive gesture

Before leaving Chinchiná, our volunteers set aside $200 from their own pockets to buy Christmas gifts for children in Buenavista, an under-resourced rural community in Chinchiná. Every child deserves to feel the warmth of the season — and this was our small way of making sure the holiday reached a little further.

Sun-Wright's commitment to support across borders last year was two things at once: institutional and personal, planned and spontaneous. We intend to keep showing up in both ways — supporting education and community wherever the work takes us.
